John Oates
John Oates
John Oates is one-half of pop music's legendary group Hall & Oates. Since the formation of their partnership in the early 70's, Hall & Oates have gone on to record 21 albums which have sold over 80 million units, making them the most successful duo in rock history. They have scored 10 number one records, over 20 top 40 hits and have toured the world for decades. In addition to their numerous American Music and MTV awards, in 2005 they were inducted into the American Songwriters Hall of Fame and in May of 2008 were presented the prestigious BMI Icon Award for their outstanding career achievement in song writing. Since 1999, John has recorded five solo albums: "Phunk Shui," "1000 Miles of Life," "Mississippi Mile" and a live album called "The Bluesville Sessions." His latest project is called: "A Good Road to Follow," which began as a series of digital singles featuring collaborations with legendary as well as new rising stars. In March of 2014 the songs were compiled into a critically acclaimed fifteen song, three disc album.

When not touring with H&O, John performs his own shows featuring material from "A Good Road to Follow," songs from his earlier CD's, and a dose of favorites from the H&O catalog, along with the stories behind those songs!

A memoir by John Oates of Hall & Oates, the most successful musical duo of all time. From modest roots to mega-stardom, a classic story of rising to life’s challenges.

John Oates was born at the perfect time, paralleling the birth of rock ‘n roll. Raised in a small Pennsylvania town, he was exposed to folk, blues, soul, and R&B. Meeting and teaming up with Daryl Hall in the late 1960s, they developed a style of music that was uniquely their own but never abandoned their roots. John uncovers the grit and struggle it took to secure a recording contract with the legendary Atlantic Records and chronicles the artistic twists and turns that resulted in a DJ discovering an obscure album track that would become their first hit record. This is not your typical rock and roll story. John was focused creating great music. Along the way he achieved incredible success, battling the ever-changing pop music landscape and coming to terms with complex managerial, business, and personal challenges.

Daryl Hall and John Oates have over 20 albums together, more than 60 million records sold, and 29 Top 40 hits. They are the most successful pop duo in the world and members of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. And yet John’s story has never been told. Relying on his many hand-written journals, he brings to light many fascinating stories spanning his entire life with a journalist’s eye and a poet’s heart.

In Change of Seasons, John shares his highs, lows, triumphs, and failures. He takes the reader on a wild ride through all the eras, personalities and music that has shaped him into what he is.

Bonnie Hayes is an American singer/songwriter, recording artist, musician and record producer. Perhaps best known for penning "Have A Heart" and "Love Letter," which restored Bonnie Raitt to superstardom with the multi-platinum, multi-Grammy-winning CD Nick of Time, Hayes' 80's pop-punk record on LA label Slash records yielded the anthemic college radio hit, Shelly's Boyfriend. Manifesto rave-up "Girls Like Me" from the same record ramped up the titles of the cult favorite film "Valley Girl". Hayes has also enjoyed success as a sidewoman, touring with megastar Billy Idol for 2 years as keyboardist/backup singer, and Belinda Carlylse on her Heaven tour. Hayes currently serves as the chair of the songwriting department at the Berklee College of Music, and plays and records in various situations as her schedule permits.
